Adult Counselling

Talking therapy to offer support through difficult times

Kent Wellbeing Hub’s Low Cost Counselling Service offers professional, confidential and affordable counselling for adults.  Counselling is available face-to-face in our dedicated therapy rooms in Rainham or can be accessed remotely via Zoom.  Talking to one of our Counsellors can provide the support you need to work through personal difficulties and to help you to find solutions to problems.

As a training organisation, some of our counsellors are placement counsellors in their final years of accredited counsellor training.  Placement counsellors are carefully screened and closely monitored, ensuring high standards are maintained.

Your counselling journey with us starts with an assessment consultation with a qualified and experienced counsellor, to determine if counselling is appropriate and something you wish to pursue. The information provided will enable us to match you to the most suitable practitioner to meet your needs. It is also an opportunity for you to ask what counselling may be like for you.

Once the assessment has been conducted, your request will be allocated to a suitable counsellor as soon as one becomes available. Once allocated, the counsellor will make contact to arrange the first session.

All Counsellors are DBS checked, insured, undergo regular supervision and are members of a Professional Body, working according to their Ethical Framework.

We are dedicated to making therapy accessible to all, and we understand that cost can be a huge barrier to many people seeking help.  We are committed to keeping the costs to a minimum.

  • Zoom Sessions £25 per session
  • Face to Face Sessions £25 per session – Rainham, Kent
  • Sessions are 50 minutes per week

We respect the uniqueness of all our clients and therefore do not limit the number of sessions, preferring instead to focus on client need.

Counselling can be beneficial for people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds who are struggling with various challenges in life. Anyone who is facing emotional, psychological, or behavioural issues can seek counselling to receive professional support and guidance. Counselling can be especially helpful for those who may not have support from their family or friends, or those who may not feel comfortable discussing their concerns with loved ones.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, experiencing high levels of stress, worry, or anxiety that are interfering with your daily life, counselling can help you learn coping strategies and manage your symptoms.

Major life changes or transitions can be supported by counselling – end of a relationship, job loss and bereavement

If you’re feeling depressed or sad, or if you’re experiencing persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, counselling can help you identify the root cause of your feelings and explore ways to manage them

If you’re experiencing difficulties in your relationships with friends, family members, or romantic partners, counselling can help you improve your communication skills, set boundaries, and develop healthier relationships.

Counselling offers a safe and supportive environment where your counsellor will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Counsellors do not generally offer advice, but will work collaboratively with you to reach your personal goals.

You may feel a range of emotions – happy, sad, confused, tired, drained, motivated, energised, unsure…it really does depend on the session. Your counsellor will always support you if you ‘don’t feel right’ or experience something unexpected.

Counselling sessions provide a safe space to express yourself in a non-judgemental environment where you can talk about your feelings, thoughts, and concerns without fear of being criticised. Talking to a counsellor can help you improve your mental and emotional wellbeing, increase your self-awareness, and develop the skills you need to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.

It helps you gain insight; you can gain a better understanding of yourself, your behaviour, and your thought patterns with the aim of identifying underlying issues that may be contributing to your problems.

A counsellor can offer emotional support and help you develop coping strategies to deal with difficult situations. They can also provide guidance and encouragement as you work through challenges.

Counselling aims to help you to feel better, but there is a possibility that some people may experience a temporary increase in distress or negative feelings during the counselling process.
You may be talking about painful memories, experiences and relationships which can bring up strong emotions and feelings that are challenging and uncomfortable.

Your counsellor is there to support your process.

Counsellors charge different hourly fees and have packages for multiple sessions. Some counselling services are also free or lower cost.

Counselling can be via the telephone or video call too. Our counsellors all offer different methods – we will match you with the counsellor who we think best offers what you need.
